Message from the founder

MMF Education Programs - FIRST® LEGO League (FLL) Competitions
The MMF is deeply committed to improving the academic faculties and expanding the intellectual horizons of kids so they grow to be responsible citizens. As a part of this effort, specifically in the Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) fields, the MMF sponsors, coaches, and supports teams to compete in the FIRST® LEGO League (FLL) competitions held every year. The FIRST® organization conducts regional, state, national, and international events and invites teams to participate and solve a number of problems of practical interest. The teams are rewarded points based on metrics such as teamwork, innovation, programming a robot to solve missions using LEGOs, research into a problem of interest within the community while providing potential solutions, etc. The goal is for the kids to get them excited and interested in STEM fields so they eventually become professionals in solving large and complex problems when they are ready.
This is the third year of MMF getting involved in supporting a team for the FLL competitions. The MMF is very excited to announce that the FLL team ‘Creators of Tomorrow’, led by coach Mohan Dasari, coach Jaya Krovvidi, and mentor Anu Dasari, has bagged the championship award during their qualifier competitions held in December 2021 in Johnston, Iowa. What’s more? The team also got qualified to participate in the state championship competition to be held later this month in Ames, Iowa. Huge kudos to the kiddos that have demonstrated superior skills in a range of tasks set by the FIRST® organization.

MMF Sustainability Projects - Sewing Machine Project
The MMF has teamed up with the Baapatla-based ‘Yes To Needy’ organization in providing home-business opportunities to a number of women in and around the Baapatla region. These women have been facing extreme financial hardships due to various adverse situations such as job loss or the passing away of earning members in the household. The MMF will work with the ‘Yes to Needy’ and provide financial support for 25 women to procure each a sewing machine, a stool, and an initial supply kit consisting of scissors, needles, and thread spools so they can set up their own home-based business. The MMF will support 85% of the capital needed to accomplish the project. The Yes to Needy organization will cover the remaining costs in organizing and coordinating a 3-month training course for these women. We request our patrons to read more about the initiative and donate to the cause:

MMF At a Glance - 2021
There is no question that the year 2021 was filled with emotional events, many of them attributable to the repercussions from the COVID-19 pandemic. A sense of normalcy has seemingly been a distant thought. Despite the dire circumstances that 2021 threw at us, the MMF made progress in many aspects. We wish to highlight a handful of our accomplishments so our patrons know that our mission goals haven’t been taken lightly. The MMF:
- Successfully completed the MMF Intellectual Empowerment Program (IEP) between Jun and Aug 2021. We hosted 11 students ranging from 8th grade through 10th grade and the program had a mix of student-led discussions and invited speakers from various professions to talk about practical and real-world applications relevant to their academic curriculum.
- Conducted drawing and essay writing competitions to celebrate the MMF 5th anniversary. Prizes were announced. Details here: https://35.239.148.43/mmf-anniversary-competitions-results-2021/
- Helped a family establish a business to supply purified drinking water in Eluru, W. Godavari district. Details here: https://35.239.148.43/water-purification-project/
- Supported a young and enterprising farmer in adopting biofertilizers for improved agriculture yield. Details here: https://35.239.148.43/biofertilizer-pilot-project/
- Established collaboration with a Bhimavaram-based bio-fertilizer company, Padmaja Agro Industries. We reached out to the AP and TS Governments requesting to promote the use of bio-fertilizers by farmers.
- Successfully completed personality development classes for select middle school children in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana states. The program covered topics such as English and public speaking.
- Completed a professional development program for College going youth and provided support with public speaking, Resume help, conducting mock job interviews, etc. Every participant in the program successfully landed a job.
- Continued donating food for the needy at the Epworth United Methodist Church every month for a large part of 2021. Please contact us at admin@35.239.148.43 if you would like to contribute.
