Message from the founder

అని అడిగితే మాత్రం తడుముకోకుండా “The mistakes happened in my life might reflect me as a failure, but they were my stepping stones for what I am achieving today”  అని ఇంగ్లీష్ లో చెపుతుంది. I am sure you all wanted to pass on your well wishes to this selfless and brave girl.

MMF Education Initiatives - Intellectual Empowerment Program

Many of us grew up in India studying in schools following a curriculum and course material that had a significant disconnect to their practical applications. With lessons learned from the personality development program we concluded in March, we began a pilot Intellectual Empowerment (IE) Program for children in 8th through 10th class/grade that intends to provide a practical relation between textbook material and their applications in the real world.

Little drops of water make a mighty ocean. We can certainly relate to this proverb for the volunteer support we received to help execute the IE program. In the program, we encourage the children to think critically and ask questions that they feel inhibited to ask teachers in a classroom. Our MMF volunteers run presentations and live demonstrations of topics such as applications of linear algebra, matrices, electromagnets, capillary action, body immune system, ethics for teenagers, etc.

We currently have 11 students enrolled in this remotely conducted seven-week program, and the outcomes so far have been more than encouraging. We plan to introduce more batches in the subsequent months. Please feel free to reach out to us if you wish to volunteer or if your children might be interested to participate in a future IE program offering.

MMF Anniversary Event - Drawing and Essay Writing Competitions

The MMF is excited to mark a milestone, approaching its fifth year after its inception. With all your support, we have made inroads on several initiatives that improved (and still improving) the lives of people. To celebrate our progress, success, and to spread our mission to a much larger audience, we are conducting drawing and essay competitions for various age groups beginning from kids through adults. This is a free event and there is no entry fee to participate. The idea is to make our fifth anniversary a memorable one and in the process, we hope to draw more people to help others in need.

Please visit this site for details.

MMF Farming Initiatives - Young Farmer Support

The MMF’s previous success with procuring cattle for widows through your support has propelled us to take up a more active role in helping farmers improve their farming yields. As a part of this effort, we have identified Venu Polisetti, a young enterprising farmer in his 20s,  looking to improve crop yield in his four-acre farm in Chodavaram, Guntur district, AP. He is looking to use natural farming methods and biofertilizers as an alternative to toxic and expensive chemical-based fertilizers. We have established a collaboration with the Padmaja Agro Industries in Bhimavaram, AP a bio-fertilizer manufacturing company to provide biofertilizers to Venu at a low cost.

The project costs Rs. 70,000/- and we are raising funds to support Venu. The MMF will closely monitor the crop yield to make a qualitative assessment of the efficacy of the biofertilizers during the process. Please consider donating for this cause in Indian currency to the Manaloni Manishi Society. Please click here for details about the project and donations.

MMF Farming Initiatives - Securing Support from the Andhra and Telangana Governments

In our last newsletter, we mentioned our efforts in reaching the AP and TS Governments with a proposal to support the use of bio-fertilizers as a safe, cheap, and environmentally safe alternative to chemical-based fertilizers. We haven’t been able to make a meaningful connection with the relevant Government authorities, and we have not paused our efforts.

We will be forever grateful to you if you are able to help us with providing a communication channel with the AP or TS agricultural/horticultural ministers to discuss farmer benefits with Government-backed support for bio-fertilizers. Please reply to this email directly if you are able to help.

If you are interested in volunteering to help with this program or any of our other MMF activities, please reach out to us via this Google form https://forms.gle/iRnwkAGwZXPoiCyy6.
