At Meet My Friend Within (MMF), we believe that every child deserves the chance to dream beyond limits. Today, we invite you to be part of a story that is not just about swimming across an ocean – but about courage, inclusion, and rewriting what the world believes is possible.
Meet Master Ishaan S, a 13-year-old boy from Chennai, India.
Ishaan is a gifted kid
Ishaan is on the autism spectrum, with a 60% cognitive disability. Like many children with autism, his journey has been filled with challenges – moments where the world may have underestimated him, or placed limits on what he could achieve.
But Ishaan chose a different path.
Instead of limits, he chose the water.
Instead of doubt, he chose determination.
Today, Ishaan is a national-level para swimming champion, an overall state champion, and a young athlete who has already conquered open sea swims in Goa and Kochi.
And now, he is preparing for something the world has never seen before.
🌍 A Dream No One Has Achieved Before
On May 25–26, 2026, Ishaan will attempt a historic feat:
A 60-kilometer, non-stop, two-way swim across the Palk Strait — from India to Sri Lanka and back.
- 🌊 30 km each way
- 🌙 Through changing tides, currents, and open ocean conditions
- 🚫 With no stops
If he succeeds, Ishaan will become:
👉 The youngest autistic individual in history to complete a two-way open water marathon swim of this magnitude.
This is more than a record. This is a message to the world – that neurodiverse children are capable of extraordinary greatness when given support, belief, and opportunity.
